Have you ever read the Bible and when you were done you felt as though everything you read was in another language? Do you desire to apply the Word to your everyday life in a way that is tangible to you and visible to those around you? Me too; so much so, I embarked on a journey to establish a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ by growing in the Word and living the best life possible, as modeled by Him.
The dictionary defines words as “choosing and using particular words in order to say or write something.” It defines faith as “complete trust or confidence in someone or something; a strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion.”
Written Words of Faith comes out of a desire to make the words in the Bible relatable to my everyday life and instrumental in growing my faith in God deeper. As I pour my heart out to Him through my written prayers, silent cries and groans of agony and despair a relationship builds that grows stronger with every interaction. Above my mantle, there is a picture that says “when life gets too hard to stand then kneel.”
My knees have callouses on them from the constant need to get through the day, week or month without losing my mind. Let’s face it, life is hard. Very hard for some of us and it leads to a hardening of the heart and a void in the soul. I am guilty of that and the road back to a softer, gentler place is strewn with pitfalls, twists, and turns.
Won’t you will join me on this journey as it pans itself out in the direction God intended for it to go. This is a personal journey filled with honesty and transparency. No secrets, which are the work of the enemy, but truthful, honest feelings as I walk on down the road. I hope to see you along the way.
